The Paddock – Queenstown, New Zealand
Set in the rural surrounds of Dalefield, The Paddock is a contemporary four-bedroom retreat designed to make the most of its elevated position and uninterrupted views towards Coronet Peak. Clean-lined architecture, high ceilings and a restrained palette of timber, organic textures and neutral tones create a calm, sophisticated interior, while floor-to-ceiling windows frame the surrounding mountain landscape. At the heart of the home, an expansive open-plan living and dining space centres around a gas fireplace and generous dining table, complemented by a well-appointed chef’s kitchen with dual ovens, glass-top stove, large butler’s pantry and central island with bar seating. A separate media room provides an additional space to unwind, while sliding doors open to a covered outdoor entertaining area with adjustable louvres, built-in BBQ, log burner and outdoor dining, extending onto the wide lawn.
The master suite occupies its own private corridor and features a Super King bed, walk-in wardrobe and spacious ensuite with freestanding bath and rainhead shower, while a second bedroom also offers a walk-in wardrobe and private ensuite. Two further bedrooms can be configured as Kings or Twins and share a generous bathroom with dual vanities, with one opening directly to the outdoor deck and spa pool overlooking the distant ridgelines. A dedicated two-person workspace, full laundry and internal garage add practical convenience, while the adjoining games and media room, complete with pool table and immersive sound system, is ideal for families and groups. Just minutes from the Coronet Peak turnoff, The Paddock offers an exceptional base for skiing, hiking, biking and wine tasting, with Queenstown’s lakefront and Arrowtown both within easy reach. For a change of pace, spend the day exploring the Shotover Canyon by jet boat before returning to the comfort and tranquillity of this beautifully positioned retreat.
