Excellent training conditions
If you’ve signed up for the next Challenge Wanaka triathlon, enrolled for the Motutapu mountain bike event, or you simply just want to get your body in shape for summer, Wanaka is the perfect training destination. The Spring temperatures here are a lot more appealing for training & much more enjoyable. With the cooler, lighter mornings & the warmer, sunnier afternoons it provides the perfect training conditions & a few less layers to add to the washing pile.
Photo opportunities
After the dormant season of winter, Wanaka starts to become alive again, as the vibrant colours start to burst onto the scene. It’s a photographer’s dream to capture the vivid colours of the daffodils or the cherry blossom trees with the snow-capped mountains prominent in the background. Or perhaps capture the little lambs frolicking in the rich green grass fields & the wild flowers of the countryside.
Avoiding the crowds
Giving a wide berth to peak season provides a completely different experience. There’s no queues at the supermarket & you can choose a prime spot to sit on the lakefront.
